Innovation Grid

Purpose: Diversify renewable energy generation.

Objectives

Development of a national collector for thermosolar energy generation. Thermosolar generation uses solar heat to generate electricity by concentrating direct irradiation on a receiving tube, using a reflecting mirror and then transferring the heat to a steam turbine.

Key Results

  • Technical: Thermosolar system (TRL6), for testing fluid heating efficiency
  • Strategic: New solar generation system, with the possibility of hybridization in a TPP
  • Economic: Expansion of generation; thermal energy storage
