Location and Communication Solutions for Plant Environments

Sponsor: Allan Almeida de Lima
Leader: Christhian Henrique Gomes Fonseca

How can a location monitoring and communication solution contribute to the safety and operational efficiency of employees and assets in critical areas of the plant?

Description: We seek to develop pilot solutions that utilize location and tracking technologies, communication, and/or employee health monitoring to improve safety and efficiency in the workplace. The solution will allow real-time tracking of people and mobile assets and direct communication between employees, potentially including monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and stress levels, if the device is a wearable. Integration with the plant's IT network enables centralized data management, providing insights for preventive safety actions and immediate support in high-risk areas.

The objective of this challenge is to identify market solutions that allow for the advanced use of monitoring and tracking technologies, promoting greater efficiency and control in security, maintenance, and operation processes.

The proposal is to conduct a pilot project at the Tucuruí Hydroelectric Power Plant that utilizes the existing IT network infrastructure and can be implemented within a maximum of two weeks, remaining operational for three months. Connection to this network can be made via WiFi 6 and Bluetooth, or as a last resort via Ethernet cable.

Mandatory requirements for the solution:

• Connectivity with AXIA Energy legacy systems.

• Compliance with the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law) and cybersecurity.

• Interface for viewing information.

• Proof of concept for rapid implementation.

• Link to a video presentation of the solution.
Please include one link in the registration form to a presentation video or other material about your organization and/or solution.

Business Impacts:

The solution will allow for greater control over worker safety and asset location, promoting a safer and more efficient environment. The solution facilitates immediate incident response, improves security in restricted areas, and reduces downtime through continuous communication and monitoring.

Expected Benefits:

• Increased worker safety in hazardous areas.

• Direct communication for rapid response in emergencies.

• Operational optimization and workflow improvement.

• Mastery of new technologies and innovative processes.
